The 100 bp DNA Ladder II is designed for sizing linear double-stranded DNA fragments from 100 bp to 5000 bp. It consists of fourteen bands: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, and 5000 bp. The 500 bp band is provided at 100 ng per 5 µL, with increased intensity for easy internal orientation. All other bands are at 50 ng per 5 µL. The 100 bp DNA Ladder II is supplied in 1× loading buffer.
The ladder is generated via PCR and restriction enzyme digestion of double-stranded DNA. The DNA is purified by phenol extraction and equilibrated in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0) with 1 mM EDTA. The Ready-to-Use DNA Ladder is supplied in a ready-to-load format. For agarose gel electrophoresis, load approximately 1 µL of ladder per millimeter of lane width.
